Endocrine
Ipamorelin
Overview
Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide (Aib-His-D-2-Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH2) described in the literature as the first selective growth-hormone secretagogue and an agonist of the ghrelin receptor. It is studied for selective GH-release research.
Mechanism
Ipamorelin is a GHRP-receptor agonist with a selectivity for GH release comparable to GHRH itself, releasing growth hormone without significantly raising ACTH or cortisol — the selectivity that distinguishes it from earlier secretagogues.
Research Areas
- Selective growth-hormone secretagogue activity
- Ghrelin-receptor agonism
- GH-release specificity vs. ACTH / cortisol
Handling & Storage
Lyophilized; store refrigerated. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water for research use.
